Bairnsdale City Oval

The Bairnsdale City Oval has received a totally new and fully automated irrigation system which replaces a 30 year old system, well past its use-by date.

Grow Master won the extensive job which was tendered by the East Gippsland Shire Council. Funding for the project was provided by a grant from the Australian Football League.

This job entailed a huge amount of trenching which broth criss-crossed the oval, but also around the perimeter of the oval. A total of 104 sprinkler heads were installed, each strategically located so as to provide efficient and complete cover of water.

Outside the oval, a 250,000 litre tank feeds water to the automated system of pumps and electronic valves. While water is currently drawn from the town water system, the system can be later upgraded to use bore water or re-cycled water.

The intelligent operating system is weather based, so that water delivery is precisely metered according to local factors such as rainfall and other climatic factors. The entire system can be remotely monitored and operated from any iPad or smart phone with internet connection, anywhere in the world.
